In February 1868, a group of entertainers known as the "Jolly Corks" created what is now known as the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Over the years, interest and growth continued...resulting in the Elks being the largest Fraternal organization in America. Since the early days, the Elks have performed numerous good deeds that have aided thousands of our citizens. Many organizations have only one primary goal or project. As Elks, we support many community and national programs that help those in need and often contribute to programs sponsored by other organizations for their success. We, as Elks, embrace the chance to serve in our community. Let the celebration continue in our hearts and souls to be the Best People On Earth (BPOE).
